Established in Kansas City in 1944, Midwest Research Institute (MRI) is an independent, not-for-profit, contract organization that provides solutions through scientific research, technology development, and technical services for the benefit of government, industry, and the public. MRI performs research in the areas of national defense, health sciences, agriculture & food safety, engineering, environment, information technology, energy, biological sciences and analytical chemistry.

MRI’s Kansas City headquarters facility houses 135 laboratories. PGAV has been involved with the renovation and growth of the campus. Several wings have been updated with the latest advances in biosecurity and testing equipment. In addition employees have been given more conference and office spaces, as well as a new break room and lounge.
